Sam The Slider

"Sam" is from a family of "Sliders."  These are creatures that "slide" into and out of your life, at unexpected and expected times.  You certainly can't always predict that a slider will visit you -- but then, if one slider does visit you it seems likely that you can help him decide WHERE and WHEN he will next SLIDE!

Sam is a friendly and helpful slider.  He stays with you, brings joy, and then increases you joy by taking a copy of your joy to another -- to share that.  In this way the more journeys Sam has traveled, the more joy he arrives with -- the more honored you can be at his visit.

Sam started life in the mind of Harry Thomas who chose Sam's first sliding journey -- into the arms of Bonnie Troescher as a very welcome arrival, late like sliders are often late, for Bonnie's birthday.

Bonnie was delighted to meet Sam, immediately gave him a place of honor and glanced lovingly at him often.  Sam arrived at a time when Bonnie had no live dog in her life, so Sam the Slider was particularly welcome.

Here is Bonnie with Sam.  You'll find you become very attached to Sam, when and as he arrives in your life.  But, when you let him slide to another, all that joy for you remains with you.

As is the custom, Bonnie counseled Sam on his next journey, into the arms of son Garth Troescher on the exact day of Garth's birthday, May 10, 2005.  It happens that Sam choose the exact minute and place -- the Magic Castle in Los Angeles -- where all things magic are easy.  Garth has a very wide selection of friends into whose arms he might send Sam!

If all of those receiving Sam into their arms and lives keep in touch with the webmaster here, the tale will continue -- forever.

Garth posed for his picture with Sam, and that is coming soon.  Garth then sent Sam sliding to Tara Shepard, Garth's sister.  Tara's birthday is May 17th.  She lives in Maryland and works with Garth.

Tara has yet to send her picture holding Sam along, but that will be here soon too.

Tara had Sam visiting only ONE day and sent it along to her father, Karl Loren, so I got Sam back into our home, and will soon be posing for a picture with Sam, in the grand tradition.  My birthday was on May 21 and I got this picture taken on May 22nd.

I, Karl Loren (also known as "Loren C. Troescher") have exactly in mind who is next to receive Sam The Slider.

Loren Wm. Troescher is my eldest son. His birthday is on June 14. Sam slid into his life then. Loren Wm. hasn't taken a photo of himself with Sam, just yet, but that will be coming along.

Here's Loren Wm.

There can even be MORE sliders -- of the same breed.  Perhaps you know of some who need recognition.
