I think that the most important help you can get on any web site is help in learning how to find what you want -- help in understanding the structure and the navigation links.
One important principal of web page design is to make navigation through the entire web easy for the viewer. I hope that I have done that for this web site. Here are the factors I think will help you navigate and find your way throughout the entire web.
Every page on this web site (except for a few) has the Vibrant Life Logo -- the sun man. You see him in the upper left hand corner of this page, and other pages. That image contains a link to the home page for the entire web site. From anywhere among these thousands of pages you can immediately click and jump to familiar territory.
There is also a search field on the top of every page. Actually, the right hand section of the top navigation bar has TWO ways to make a search. The word itself, "search" is a link to another page where you can start your search. Then, immediately below that word is a field into which you can type any word or phrase you wish -- then press GO and you will quickly arrive at the search results. This is a powerful tool that you might well want to use. Every word (except small, common words) on the entire web site is "indexed" and can be found through the search feature. The "full page" search function gives you a few more options on your search.
There is a much more detailed list of links on the bottom of every page. These links go not only within THIS web site, but to some of my other web sites. This list of links is in a box with a yellow background.
There is a second search function offered on EVERY page, near the bottom. I, personally, find the Google search engine to be the best on the web. They have treated me well -- indexing virtually all of my many thousands of pages. You can use the Google search function below to find words or phrases WITHIN any of the Vibrant Life web sites. The results you will get, using this custom version of Google, are ONLY within my pages.
The sections between the Sun Man Logo and the Search Function contain links to various sections and pages. These links are somewhat hidden when you first look at the navigation bar -- you only have to click on a word and, magically, a "drop down menu" of choices appears. Each of the items in the "drop down menu" is clickable. These links, dropped down, will remain down while you are on the same page. However, you can click again on the top item and the list will "collapse upward" and no longer be visible. Some browsers don't deal well with this feature, so you may see all the available links open all the time -- not hidden.
These links vary depending on where you are within the web site. THIS Help Page is within the "home section" of the web -- so the links on the above navigation bar are very general. They lead to main topics and sections, here and there within the entire web site.
For instance, in this link section, at the top, on the left pane, you see the phrase "heart disease." That word, itself, is NOT a link. But, if you click on that phrase, then the drop down menu will appear below that phrase. The words and phrases in this drop down menu ARE clickable.
The table of contents (TOC) is another helpful way to learn about the web site. Generally there is a separate Table of Contents in each major section of the web site. From THIS page, at the top, under "Administrative" you'll find a drop down menu choice of "TOC." That page contains helpful information generally about every single page in this Section of the Web.
It is almost unheard of to find a web where the big cheese, himself, promises to write back to every personal message. I am Karl Loren, co-founder, with my wife, of Vibrant Life. I promise to answer, personally, every eMail personal message I receive. I consider that so important that EVERY page on this web site (and all my other web sites) includes several links to a page where you can write an eMail to me. These eMails arrive on my personal computer and I usually respond within hours. You'll find a link to the "write to Karl Loren" page on the top, under the Administration item, and also in three places near the bottom of every page.
I also publish a free electronic newsletter -- monthly. You can subscribe from every page on any of my web sites -- the subscription section is near the bottom of every page. You need only fill in your eMail address and name, and click on "subscribe." (No other person can subscribe for you -- because after you have clicked on "subscribe" the company that maintains my subscription list for me will automatically send an eMail to the address just submitted and you MUST then respond to that eMail in order to confirm the subscription.
Many of the pages on this web site have been copied from other locations. Generally when I do that I always include a link back to the original source. Often the link is included in the word "source." The links are also often placed in the logo or image from the original source.
Many pages have the word "Referenced By" near the top. These references are links to articles by me, somewhere on the web. In other words, when I write an article about "Toxic Metals" I will include, within my own writing, links to various studies and articles by others. If you click on these links you will usually get to a page where the phrase "Referenced By" appears. This will allow you to jump back to the original page. There could be several places linked to one of these articles, so the "Referenced By" link may not always work. Your "back button," of course, will work fine.
I hate it when you click on some link and get a NEW window. You can wind up with a dozen different windows open on your screen. I never do that.
