My wife and I are the owners of a company called “Vibrant Life” in business for some 25 years and now operating primarily over the internet with sales and international and domestic shipments to our customer list of about 90,000. We get daily new customers from web sales. Sales include our own proprietary formulas of vitamins that reduce the risk of heart attack and cancer; we also sell MSM by the ton. We have never sold or even rented our list. The last time we sent a mailing to the entire list was in early 2005.

The business is currently located in Burbank, California, near Los Angeles, but could easily be located anywhere, subject to staff willingness to relocate, or local training of the new management before relocation. Also there may be considerations on dealing with the same vitamin laboratories we have used for 20+ years and who know how to make our formulas. We have had the same toll free number and Burbank PO Box numbers for 20+ years.

We do not have customers who visit our business location except for the few who happen to live in the area.

Sales are close to $1,000,000 per year of vitamin formulas which I personally created. We sell only a few products made by others. The business opportunity consists of ownership of the formulas and copyrights to my 100,000+ web pages, published books, customer list, good will, existing staff (if the business continues to be located close enough to where it is now) and my personal assistance in training and successful take-over.

The reason for the sale is that I am now 74, my wife 68 and we have other plans to be active but want Vibrant Life to prosper long into the future. The biggest source of customers is generally people over 50, about the time people start worrying about heart attacks. The number of baby-boomers coming into the age of heart attacks is reaching a peak just now.

There is also a growing awareness of the inadequacy of drugs or bypass surgery to halt the climbing death rate from cancer and heart disease.

We will be pleased to talk with prospective buyers. We do not require that a new owner either BE or BECOME a member of our Church of Scientology, but we do expect that the person will not be hostile or critical of our religion.

The business is located partly in my home (picture below) and a rented warehouse nearby. The new owner would have to find new locations within a few months since we are moving and we have given notice of moving from the warehouse where there is not room for the office.

Upfront money is not required; however, upfront money will assure me that the buyer is committed to making the business successful under his new management.

The sale price can be paid entirely out of profits of the Company – simply by the continued life-time payment to my wife and me of the amount we have been drawing monthly for some years. The new owner would expect to receive the profits from whatever expansion in sales and profits he can create.

The business may be moved within several months to consolidate the office and the separate warehouse now both in Burbank. I do not expect to retain the offices in my home.   • My daughter, Maia Mulvena, has been a successful manager in this Company for several years but wants to devote time to her family and prefers to stay on as manager with a new owner rather than dedicate the necessary time and energy to take over, away from her family. She has a fraction of one percent ownership interest.
  • Read the job requirements and suggestions I have in mind -- below.
  1. Ownership is open to a man or woman, no restrictions on race, age or religion.
  2. The person must have no criminal record
  3. I'd like the person to give me a resume with at least 5 years of residence addresses and employment names and dates.
  4. The person should expect that I will do a thorough background check -- material false answers on an employment application will be grounds for cancellation of a purchase agreement.
  5. The person must never have taken any psychiatric drugs or been treated by any psychiatrist. You may note that this Company, by firm policy, refuses to sell any products to any person taking psychiatric or street drugs (unless handled). That Company Policy is publicized here. Initiatin of either street drugs, psychiatric drugs or psychiatric treatment following employment is grounds for zero-tolerance termination for cause.
  6. The person should currently in good health. Regular disciplined exercise would be a plus.
  7. I will give an IQ test, personality test and aptitude test. Results will be given to the person. There are minimum scores suggested for someone who wants to be successful in this business. A high IQ (140 or more on a test with 150 as maximum theoretical) will be very helpful.
  8. I expect that the person I will find has earned good money elsewhere than he will be withdrawing initially -- so it is expected that he/she comes here with sufficient resources to invest TIME to prove his capability to take over complete management and ownership.
  9. I believe that both I and the new person will have a fairly accurate estimation of future prospects within four months -- and thus the initial trial period of four months includes the provision that the new person can leave or that we can terminate the relationship with one week's notice -- without cause -- during those four months.
  10. If he comes with sufficient cash to invest there need not be any four month trial period.
  11. In my opinion the new owner can look forward to annual personal income in excess of $150,000 within two years, much more when he continues to increase the sales of the Company.
  12. At the time of ownership takeover there may be a "lifetime" financial committment from the Company to my wife and me -- such that there is an agreed-upon monthly payment to us as long as either of us is alive.
  13. There is no expected "payment" for the acquisition of the Company by the new person other than his investment in time and energy. There may be certain reserves and Business-owned savings account which will revert to our personal account when the new person takes over.
  14. I anticipate that the "net worth" of the Company at the time of takeover, as it is now, will be positive, not negative.
  15. We will not retain any ownership position and at our death there is no part of this Company which would be within our estate as long as the criteria for transfer of ownership have been met.
  16. At the time any continuing financial committments are met by the owner to us, the new owner may dispose of the Business as he sees fit.
  17. The ownership includes title to copyrighted web pages (except www.karllorenpremium.com) and trademarks as well as written Company Policies and rights to exclusive use of the formulas originally developed by Karl.
  18. The person must have no "unhandled" drug history. Any extensive street or medical drugs must be handled by completing the Hubbard Detox program, which I and others in the Company have done.
  19. The Company is operated on objective daily and weekly statistics -- these will be the "proof" of the new person's management success. I do not operate on subjective evaluations -- the Company statistics are the guide to this person's assuming ownership and control.
  1. There is a definite "start at the bottom" aspect to this takeover. You will learn to handle computer entries for orders, packing and shipping and responding to phone calls and eMails from customers and prospects.
  2. There is a huge project of modernizing the 100,000 web pages and implementing a new shopping cart awaiting you. I will teach, and this will be one duty the new person may have to learn if not already a practiced web master.
  3. There is also a program to place our database on our server, using MySQL and PHP -- you should at least know about these computer programs and be able to learn more, if necessary, quickly enough to be helpful to the computer technical people who are doing that work.
  4. I have developed revolutionary new electronic teaching techniques which are, as yet, hardly used. These may be included in the ownership package if the new person can also learn this technology and demonstrate successful commercialization of it.
  5. I may be willing to pay a"finder's fee" for a referral that results in a final arrangement acceptable to me.
  6. The person must subscribe to a moral code not unlike the one I promote HERE.
  7. The person should either already have or be willing to learn some or all of the following skills. These are skills I have learned and can teach.
    1. Computer programming --- enough to hire and understand more technically skilled persons. It is true, however, that this is a high-tech Company based on internet marketing -- thus computer and web knowledge will be important parts of the Company's expansion.
    2. Investment of money is not required. However, I would also be willing to entertain a purchase offer, but even still with a period of proving that this Business will continue into the future.
    3. I do expect someone willing to work for a modest fixed salary until that person has learned enough and demonstrated enough management ability (based on sales and Company statistics) to earn higher salary and to take over 100% ownership of the Company, with the target for that being less than two years.
    4. Web design experience would be very helpful.
    5. I expect skills with Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and other common computer programs.
    6. It is not necessary that the person be or become an "author," since I believe "enough" has already been written and published. But, writing skills would be very useful, including for creating compelling advertistments or other promotional material and taking over the weekly electronic newsletter that has been published for many years.
